Directions from Cork.

Take the N22 from Cork city in the direction of Killarney and turn left onto the R584 just before Macroom town, signposted Inchigeelagh, Beal Áthan Ghaorthaidh and Gougane Barra. From there you will will follow the course of the River Lee through Toons Bridge, Inchigeelagh and Beal Áthan Ghaorthaidh and a little further(5km) on you will turn right onto the L4643 and climb the last 2km to arrive at our hotel alongside the lake.

Distance 71 km, journey time 1 hour approx.

Directions from Bantry.

Take the N71 out of Bantry town in the direction of Glengarriffe and turn right onto the R584 at the bridge in Ballylickey, signposted Kealkill and Gougane Barra. Follow the R584 through kealkill village and past Carriganass Castle and through the Pass of Keimaneigh where you will find the L4643 on your left which climbs to our hotel on the lakeside in Gougane Barra.

Distance 35 km, journey time 1/2 hour approx.

Public Transport

There is a regular bus service (Monday to Saturday) from Parnell Place in Cork City to Beal Áthan Ghaorthaidh (Ballingeary) via Macroom, departing at 15.15 and arriving at 17.15. www.buseireann.ie
