The lake at Gougane Barra is known as' Lough Irce' and is an acid mountain lake. This presents a true test for the dedicated fly angler, yielding wild native brown trout up to three quarters of a pound plus. Casual Anglers wishing to use spinners or worms can fish from the shore.
