Our hotel was opened in 1936 by Joan and Connie Cronin (Neil’s grandparents)
with the intention we still have today:
‘To have a welcoming, cosy., family-run hotel, serving wholesome, local good food.’
AGA: As Joan Cronin did, we cook everything in and on our Aga cooker.

BAKING: Our scones, soda bread, Portercake and banana bread are all baked here using family recipes.
BLACK PUDDING:From Twomey’s Butchers in Clonakilty, West Cork ( 1 hour away)
BREAD: Our toast is from Lynch’s FamilyBakery in Macroom, 5 generations of baking [began in 1869.]
BUTTER: From Kanturk co-op in North Cork(1 hour away)
CHEESE: Gouda cheese with herb and nettlefrom Round Tower Farm House, Enniskeane, Co. Cork.
COFFEE: from Maher’sCoffee, run by John and Mary Mackey in Cork since 1991. We are serving theirColumbian Dark Roast fair trade organic coffee.
EGGS: Our eggs arealways free-range from John Mohan of Ballyfree
FRUIT &VEGETABLES: Supplied by Mike Moore, based inBantry and organic leaves and vegetables in season from our most local supplierDamien Twohig in Inchigeelagh.
JAM: From Mairín and Peadar Ó Lionaird[Folláin Jam] in Baile Mhuirne (20 minutes away)
MILK: From Kevin andLiz O’ Donovan’s Family Farm in Gloun Cross Dairy in Dunmanway (30 minutesaway)
PORRIDGE OATS:Run by Johnny’s family for over 200 years, we slow cook ‘Flahavan’s’ 100%wholegrain rolled oats on our Aga.
PRUNES: Toby and Jenny Rose in ToonsbridgeDairy (20 minutes away) import them from D’Agen, France.
SMOKED SALMON:From Ballycotton Seafood in Cork; a family owned and run fish and seafoodbusiness.
TEA: Barry’s Gold Blend Tea is also afamily business trading on the banks of the Lee in Cork since 1901.
WATER: Our water is triple-filtered,chemical-free spring water from the Gougane Barra mountains.
YOGHURT: Glenilen from Alan and Valerie’sfamily farm in Drimoleague, West Cork and The Cleary Family’s Glenisk OrganicYoghurt from County Offaly
