Civil Partnership

We celebrate civil partnerships in our hotel. On the day of your wedding, just walk down the stairs and get married, it couldn’t be easier.
Invite your closest family and friends to your Gougane Barra wedding ceremony, and walk out the front door afterwards, down the steps to capture the memories on camera by the lakeside.

From Minane Bridge to Canada to Kiev, we have had many happy couples make their vows to each other in our hotel. It is like a house wedding, your closest, gathered around you, to witness your promises to each other, in a cosy hotel in a hidden valley. Classical white chair covers, candles lighting on the fireplace and nothing added but your hopes, wishes, and dreams for your future together.

If you have a certain date in mind, please contact us to see if it is available here and then contact the Registrar (+353 21 4270508) to check if they have a registrar available on that date to perform the ceremony.

The following are the general rules for a civil partnership. A civil partnership can be held in a registry office or ‘some other venue’ that is approved by a registrar. A registrar must be available to solemnise the marriage. If you want to get married in a venue (ie. Gougane Barra Hotel) other than the registry office, you should contact the registry office for the district the venue is located in, to arrange its approval.

We are in the Cork district and the address is Washington St., Cork, the number is +353 21 427 0508. If there is a registrar available on the date you have in mind they will come and inspect the venue prior to that, to see if it is acceptable to perform the ceremony, and there will be some forms to fill in and a fee to pay to them. They will also inform you of any paper work required prior to the ceremony.
