Food & Wine
Food and Wine are a big part of what our guests enjoy in Gougane Barra.
Katy takes responsibility for the food, and is really lucky to have a creative kitchen team each season.
We buy almost all of our food locally, the less distance it has to travel, the better it is for you and for us.
We live in an unspoilt rural area with a huge amount of small producers making artisan food products, which are great to use in our dishes.
Our menus are planned with the seasons and change according to what is available locally.
We are excited to have our own new organic herb garden since summer of 2014. We also just planted rhubarb and fruit bushes this month
(March '15) and are hoping the sun will shine this summer and the bushes will bear fruit.
We are happy to plan special dietary requirements, please let us know ahead of your stay, if possible.
Neil developed an interest in wines when he was training in France and sources everything on our wine list, with care and attention.
Working closely with our Wine Merchants we have developed an interesting, fun, quirky and well-priced wine list which we hope you will enjoy.
Neil and his team in the restaurant are happy to advise on matching a wine to compliment your dinner or recommending something bubbly for a special occasion.
