Gougane Barra, a place of Romance...


With a little church sitting on an ancient island on Gougane Barra Lake in a secluded valley of West Cork it is no wonder that people from all over the world chose to say “I do” here every year.

No need for a wedding car in Gougane, but a white umbrella can occasionally be handy, and looks great in the photos. It could not be more idyllic after the church ceremony, than walking from the Oratory, hand in hand, along the banks of the lake, at your ease, to the hotel where there will be a welcome drink and tea and coffee with home-baked scones with jam and cream waiting for you and your guests to continue your celebration.
