Awarded an AA rosette for culinary excellence annually since 2006, the Gougane Barra Hotel Restaurant has a great reputation for taking care of their guests                                                           and has an incredible view overlooking Gougane Barra Lake and St Finbarr's oratory.

Enjoy the ever-changing light in the beautiful valley while you dine.                                                                                                                                                                                    The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is local the  cooking is good and the wine list is created lovingly by Neil and Darcie from the Lost Valley Dairy.                                                                        We pride ourselves on our relaxed yet professional manner, our attention to detail that will make your meal one to remember.

Lunchtime: Monday we are not open for lunch time to re-stock after the weekend

Tuesday to Saturday

• We serve a light lunch menu in our sitting rooms & little bar, with chowder, starters, main courses and desserts (unless we are fully booked) give us a call to make sure please 
• On Sundays we serve full traditional lunch in the restaurant, booking advised but not essential last bookings are 2.30pm

Dinner:

• Dinner is served daily, 2 sittings, at 6pm and 8pm. 
• We serve a three-course menu,  with local food being centre stage, there are á-la-carte options for each course choice; these change daily depending on what is available locally and in season. Some dishes have extra supplements but it is stated clearly on the dinner menu of the day, which changes daily, depending on whats in season.
• We offer an interesting wine list with many different old and new world choices, all from small vineyards - Neil and Darcie had a lot of fun putting it together
• In addition to our annual AA rosette since 2006, we are also recommended in the Mc Kennas' Guide and Georgina Campbell's Ireland Guide and featured at Number 10 in 2025 in Pól O Conghaile's Irish Independent list of Irelands Hot 100 Hotels in Ireland which made us very happy and proud of our little unpretentious hotel.
